It's officially Halloween today, and the Jingkids Creative Writing Contest for October is now ready to pick a winner! We've had a number of great submissions from aspiring student writers that have been published on our blog throughout the month, and now we need your votes to select the best one! "He flicked the light switch. On. Off. On. No response. Must be a blackout. The rain was quite heavy. He took his phone out and turned the flashlight on. A bright light lit up part of the garage, blinding him for a second before he angled it away from him. At that moment, he thought he saw a silhouette in the corner of his eyes. He turned around. No one was there."

"He slowly approached the door, not ready to face what could be inside. But he plucked up his courage and opened it. There it was, the nightmare that he had been having for ages; the one with all the screaming, the one with all the blood on the wooden tiles, the one with that one headless baby crying his name, and the one where he knew that he was next."
